Edgar’s sister Helen is an accomplished artist with a particular gift for portrait painting. She also painted many of the sets for Edgar’s plays over the years. In 2013, her work was featured in a solo show titled “Lunar Landing” at the Participant Inc. space on the Lower East Side (SeeĀ http://www.nytimes.com/events/art/galleries-other/helen-oliver-adelson-hoa-the-lunar-landing-14946.html).
She resides primarily in Tarquinia, near Rome, and on a recent visit, Edgar sat for his portrait.
Brooklyn-based artist Michael Haaftka recently painted a portrait of Edgar.
The portrait is splendid, and we are sure that you’ll want to learn more about Michael’s work: http://www.facebook.com/haaftka.
